Thanapak Poonpol was born in 1991 Bangkok, Thailand. At the age of eight, He began his musical studies in Assumption College Thonburi school band as horn player. He studied horn with Jak Jindawatt, Phicate Siriwongkomut and Pakorn Klovutiwat. In 2010 became a student of College of Music, Mahidol University with major in Western Music Performance French horn, studied with Dr.Daren Robbins, Chairs of Brass and Percussion of College of Music, Mahidol University.
In 2010, He has been a member of awarded horn ensemble “Horn Pure” (awarded from Thailand International Horn Ensemble Competition in 2009, small ensemble) and won the First Prize at the International Horn Society Ensemble Competition in Brisbane, Australia and have performed as finalists at the 2010 Osaka Competition in Osaka, Japan and recently was invited to perform at 44th International Horn Symposium at University of North Texas, U.S.A. then 46th HIS in London also. He won 2nd prize from Thailand Brass and Percussion Conference 2014, Horn competition. He got a change to joined Asian Youth Orchestra 2012 and performed many concerts around Asian such as Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Japan. He has been a part of Mahidol brass band since 2013 and performed many concerts around Bangkok and also performed in Tuba Mania International Festival 2013. He has been a member of Siam Sinfonietta Orchestra since 2010 and joined many music festivals around the world such as Young Euro Classic, New York “Sound of Summer” Music Festival with Siam Sinfonietta Orchestra. He also has opportunity to perform with Indonesian Orchestras – Twilight Orchestra and Bandung Philharmonic Orchestra.
Thanapak is now majoring in Music Performance and Pedagogy, French horn, Graduate program at the College of Music, Mahidol University studying with Dr. Daren Robbins, Chairs of Brass and Percussion of College of Music, Mahidol University.
