Nuttha Kuankajorn

Bangkok-born Nuttha Kuankajorn is one of the key figures in Thailand’s classical music scene, recognized as a performer, educator, and podcast host.

Nuttha received a full scholarship for her undergraduate studies at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore, where she studied under Rachel Walker, Principal oboe of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. In 2017, she earned her Master’s Degree in Oboe Performance from the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, Germany, and completed a Certificate of Advanced Study the following year, under the mentorship of Professor Thomas Indermühle.

In 2019, Nuttha served as the Principal Oboe of the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra until she was appointed Principal Oboe of Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra in January 2025. She currently teaches at the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University and the Conservatory of Music, Rangsit University. Alongside her career as an orchestra musician and instructor, Nuttha is a dedicated chamber music performer and regularly gives recitals.

Nuttha has performed extensively across Asia and Europe with renowned orchestras such as the Baden- Baden Philharmonie, Mannheimer Philharmoniker, Baltic Sea Philharmonic, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, and Singapore Symphony Orchestra, among others. In addition, she has participated in renowned music festivals across Thailand, Germany, Spain, the UK, Taiwan, Singapore, China, Japan, and Nepal.

As a soloist, Nuttha has been invited multiple times to perform concertos with CU Symphony Orchestra and Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. She attended masterclasses conducted by Christoph Hartmann, Jonathan Kelly, Dudu Carmel, Jacques Tys, Spyros Kontos, Christian Schmitt, Paolo Grazia, Gordon Hunt, Stefan Schilli, Kalev Kuljus, Simon Emes, Amanuel Abbühl and Yiu Song-Lam.

Nuttha began her musical journey with piano lessons at age five and oboe at fifteen, studying with Chanannat Meenanan, Principal oboe of the National Symphony Orchestra of Thailand.
Nuttha is a Rigoutat artist and plays on a model ‘J’ oboe.
