Andrew Healey
Andrew Healey studied cello and piano at the Royal College of Music in London, where he won the Kathleen Long chamber music prize. He then studied in Detmold, Germany, where Brahms had been a teacher, and in Paris with Reine Flachot. Back in London he took lessons with Stefan Popov and Christopher Bunting. He first came to Bangkok in 1983 to play with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, and to teach at the Royal Thai Navy Music School and at Chulalongkorn University. In 1990 he returned to London to study Early Childhood Music, following the birth of his daughter Joann. In 1994 he was invited to be on the the faculty of the graduate programme at Mahidol University. Later he was Head of Strings and Head of the Early Childhood music programme at MIFA Academy. More recently he was Head of Strings at Harrow International School.
