European Tour 2022 – Beyond the Horizon
Thailand Phil is very proud to embark on the first major European tour by a Thai orchestra. Under the direction of our Chief Conductor, Alfonso Scarano, we will perform a fun and eclectic program at three of Europe’s most prominent concert venues. Gershwin’s American in Paris describes the dazzle and excitement of visiting the City of Love. Bernstein’s West Side Story is the classic re-telling of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, but set in the rough and tumble world of New York City’s gangs. The program opens with our Music Director, Narong Prangcharoen’s, best-known work, Phenomenon. Joining the Thailand Phil on the tour is world-renowned violinist Kristóf Baráti performing Wieniawski’s lyrical and virtuosic Second Violin Concerto.
