Synopsis:
“Celebrate the New Year with the spirit of childhood!”
Following the success of last year’s Peter and the Wolf concert, this year we are excited to present to you the new musical tale Sudsakorn, a story from Sunthorn Phu’s epic. Children of all ages are welcome to join the mythological world of Thailand’s great epic poem and it’s hero, Prince Aphai Mani. Sunthorn Phu’s enduing Nineteenth century epic is an enduring tale of wonderful heroes, dangerous monsters with a musical theme. Like all folk-like tales the story of Prince Aphai has something to teach everyone regardless of age.
Accompanying this tale on the program is a colorful set of British variations: Young Person’s Guide to Orchestra by Benjamin Britten. Based on a Baroque tune by Henry Purcell, the piece helps introduce each instrument of the orchestra before a thunderous and inspirational finale.
Having collaborated in creating a number of musicals, Maestro Thanapol Setabrahmana and Napisi Reyes will again join in producing this new show for your family. Semathai Marionette returns with their spectacular troupe of puppets, marionettes, and actors.
