Brahms’ Fourth Symphony stands as a masterpiece within the Romantic orchestral repertoire. Across its four movements, this symphony embarks on a vivid journey characterized by stark contrasts: from moments of luminosity to depths of darkness, from joy to sorrow, and from introspection to fervent passion. Maestro Johannes Klumpp opens the program with the evocative Dance of the Seven Veils by Richard Strauss, setting the stage for an afternoon of musical richness. Additionally, we are delighted to feature a performance of Mendelssohn’s Second Piano Concerto by our esteemed and long-time friend of the Thailand Philharmonic, Rolf Dieter Arens.
