Jhonas Sibila
Jhonas Sibila was born in 1993 in Caracas, Venezuela. He began to play cello at the age of 14 years old with Prof Argelia Martinez in the renowned international music program EL SISTEMA in Guatire, Venezuela. In 2010 he won the audition to play with Francisco Miranda Orchestra By EL SISTEMA. Playing with the Francisco de Miranda Orchestra he had the opportunity to work with renowned conductors such as: Gustavo Dudamel, Rafael Payare, Cristian Vazquez, Rodolfo Saglimbeni. In 2011 he began his studies in the National School of Violoncello in Venezuela, where he had the chance to receive lessons with different masters of the violoncello: Valmore Nieves principal of Simon Bolivar Orchestra, Juan Plablo Mendez and Cesar Guiliani members of Simon Bolivar Orchestra. Being part of the National School of Violoncello in Venezuela He played in master classes for Luca Franzetti, Paul Dessene, Jose David Marquez, Arnaldo Pizzolante and Dick Van Gasteren.
Jhonas Sibila 2010, 2011 and 2016 was part of the Cello Course Duo Aldo Parisot where he received lessons with German Marcano, Omaira Naranjo and Alejandro Sarda. He was selected to play as soloist in different venues.
He got the position as cellist in the Orquesta Municipal de Caracas and had the opportunity to play as a soloist, as well as being principal of the cello section for 2 years. During his time playing with Orquesta Sinfonica Municipal de Caracas, Jhonas worked under director Rodolfo Saglimbeni as well as travelling with the orchestra around the world in 25 countries, such as Norway, Spain, France, Japan, Italy, Russia, Latvia, Denmark, Portugal, Greece, Iceland and Sri lanka. In addition, he studied Chamber Music in the Mozarteum of Caracas for 2 years with the renowned pianist Arnaldo Pizzolante.
As a teacher Jhonas Sibila worked with EL Sistema in Venezuela. He worked with youth and children orchestras as well as being the Cello teacher of the National Music School Juan Manuel Olivares in Caracas, Venezuela. Since 2021 he has been working in Bangkok Prep International School.
Jhonas Sibila has been part of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra since 2022.
