The Firebird – The Centennial Anniversary of Puey Ungphakorn
Stravinsky’s ground-breaking ballet catapulted the composer to international fame. Alfonso Scarano conducts The Firebird, spirited music that mixes the vitality of Russian folk music with Stravinsky’s imaginative instrumentation and fierce rhythmic energy. Also featured on the program are Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite and Ugoletti’s Bass Clarinet concerto performed by Dutch bass clarinetist Henri Bok.
